- 1. STANDING POSES, BALANCE, SUPPORTED SIDE BENDING POSES AND TWISTSIn this section, we focus mainly on standing poses, balance on the feet, side bends and twists. We use props such as chairs, bricks, blocks, blankets and belts. We work on our ability to observe and recognise our breathing pattern so that we can develop more efficient breathing. We embark on a fascinating journey exploring the origins of yoga.5
- 2. HIP-OPENING POSES AND SUPPORTED SPINAL BENDING EXERCISESIn this section, we focus on hip-opening poses and spinal bends, as well as the asanas from the previous section. We practise mindfulness through full yogic breathing and are introduced to Ujjayi and Viloma Pranayama. In terms of history and philosophy, we introduce the Puranas and begin an exploration of the Darshanas.5
- 3. ABDOMINAL STRENGTHENING AND SPINAL EXTENSIONS IIn this section, we focus on poses for strengthening the abdominal muscles and spinal extensions, as well as the asanas covered in the previous sections. We practise mindfulness through full yogic breathing and are introduced to Surya Bedhan. In terms of history and philosophy, we will explore Patanjali’s Classical Yoga.6
- 4. ABDOMINAL STRENGTHENING AND SPINAL EXTENSIONS IIIn this section, we focus on more advanced abdominal toning poses and spinal extensions, as well as the asanas from the previous sections. We practise mindfulness through full yogic breathing and are introduced to Kapalabhati. In terms of history and philosophy, we will continue with Patanjali’s Classical Yoga.4
- 5. INVERTED IIn this section, we focus on inverted poses as well as the asanas from the previous sections. We practise mindfulness through full yogic breathing and are introduced to Nadi Suddhi. In terms of history and philosophy, we will conclude our journey through the six Darshanas with Purva Mimamsa and Vedanta.5
- 6. INVERTED IIIn this section, we will continue to focus on inverted poses, as well as the asanas covered in the previous sections. We will practise mindfulness through full yogic breathing and be introduced to Brahmari. In terms of history and philosophy, we will be given an introduction to Tantra.6
- 7. HAND BALANCE IIn this section, we focus on hand-balancing poses as well as the asanas covered in the previous sections. We practise mindfulness through full yogic breathing, are introduced to Chandra Bedhan, and take a journey through our energy anatomy to discuss the chakras and nadis.5
- 8. HAND BALANCE IIIn this section, we will continue to focus on hand-balancing poses, as well as the asanas covered in the previous sections. We will practise mindfulness through full yogic breathing and be introduced to Nadi Sodhan. In terms of history and philosophy, we will take a journey through Hatha Yoga.5
