BODY – MIND 1 hour 15 minutes

Postural Yoga

Adapted body awareness

Postural Yoga It is the popular form of Hatha Yoga known as psychophysical yoga, based on the practice of asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing), etc. Nowadays, there are many styles of Hatha Yoga that have emerged as hybrid forms created by various teachers: Iyengar, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, etc. During this session, we will mainly practise postures adapted to your needs

The on-demand yoga session takes place in the yurt at Finca Kalki, where we have everything you need for a safe and comprehensive practice. Depending on your needs, we’ll put together a sequence that’s more or less dynamic, focusing on asanas within your comfort zone whilst allowing you to build on what you already know. We’ll also introduce other yogic elements and tools such as pranayama, meditation, mudras, etc., tailored to your needs.

Yoga, as a means of connecting with the body, offers numerous proven benefits for physical and mental health. It helps your body to become strong and supple, but above all, it enables you to be aware of your body, to understand it and to feel it. When we connect with our bodies mindfully, we allow our minds to be in the present moment and clear our bodies of constraints, limitations, blockages, traumas, pain and discomfort. The practice of asanas has a highly beneficial effect on your nervous system, promoting a balance between activation and rest, which helps you feel more energetic during the day and enables you to rest deeply at night. These are just a few of the many benefits of practising yoga.

Physical connection and greater presence

Keeping your body strong, flexible and balanced

Reducing psychological disturbances through body awareness (anxiety, insomnia, etc.)

Regain your vitality, lightness and connection with life

Relieve physical tension, aches and pains that prevent you from resting

The session will be led by Helena Chacón or Javier Muriel, both of whom are teachers holding an official Certificate of Professional Competence and are trainers at the Yoga Kula® School.

Yoga Nidra

Guided meditation whilst lying down

Yoga Nidra It is translated as the “Yoga Dream”. It consists of a methodology of Tantric origin involving a series of stages that enable you to maintain awareness whilst you relax. The aim is to access deep recesses of your psyche where beliefs, traumas, experiences and so on are stored, and to plant a seed of change and transformation.

The Yoga Nidra session takes place in the yurt at Finca Kalki (or outdoors if you’d like and the weather permits). The entire session is spent lying on your back, so you’ll settle in beforehand with whatever props you need so that you don’t have to move. During the session, the facilitator will guide you through the different stages that make up a Yoga Nidra session. All you have to do is follow her instructions and be present, observing

The short-term effect of a Yoga Nidra session is relaxation. However, Yoga Nidra is actually a form of meditation, so you will also gain self-awareness, personal development and transformation. When we practise Yoga Nidra, we are preparing our mind to free itself from the shackles of the past so that we can “walk” more freely, with greater mental clarity, energy and vitality.

Relaxation for body and mind

Self-awareness and personal development

Inner transformation

Releasing trauma and old beliefs

The session will be led by Helena Chacón or Javier Muriel, both of whom are teachers holding an official Certificate of Professional Competence and are trainers at the Yoga Kula® School.

Laughter Therapy

Activities that encourage laughter

Laughter Yoga It is a unique form of exercise in which we combine unconditional laughter with yogic breathing. Anyone can laugh without relying on their mood, jokes or comedy. Laughter is initially simulated as a physical exercise, aiming to foster a childlike, playful attitude. In most cases, this leads to deep, infectious laughter. Science has shown that the body cannot distinguish between practised laughter and spontaneous laughter. Laughter Yoga is the only technique that enables people to achieve joyful laughter without initially involving cognitive thought, as it is a process that begins in the body, thereby bypassing the mind, which normally acts as a brake on laughter.

The Laughter Yoga session takes place inside the Kalki yurt. During the session, the facilitator will guide you through a series of exercises to practise your laughter and breathing. The session ends with a guided meditation and relaxation session to help balance your nervous system.

Laughter has many physical and mental benefits, both in the short and long term. Among these benefits, we can highlight:
  • It helps relieve stress as it reduces cortisol and regulates peptide levels
  • It releases endorphins and natural opioids (feel-good hormones), which create a positive state of mind and boost optimism, self-confidence and feelings of self-worth.
  • It boosts our immune system by increasing levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA) (antiviral and anti-infection cells) and by modulating the activity of natural killer (NK) cells (these cells play a vital role in cancer prevention).
  • It promotes oxygenation, as laughter is an excellent form of cardiovascular exercise.
  • It produces an “internal massage” that improves blood circulation, aids digestive function and enhances the functioning of the lymphatic system.
  • The face takes on a rosy, healthy glow thanks to improved blood circulation, leaving us looking radiant and glowing.
  • Laughter encourages cheerful and playful behaviour, developing emotional intelligence and enabling adults to develop their social skills.
  • Laughter can release emotions stored within our bodies. Suppressed or blocked emotions can lead to ongoing physical, mental and emotional problems, and releasing them can change people’s lives. Laughter provides us with an excellent means of emotional release and catharsis without violence.
  • Improves social skills

Relaxation and anti-stress exercises

Revitalisation and mental and physical reset

Humour as a way to relieve tension, improve your health and stay in the moment

Learning to deal with situations with greater optimism and hope

OSHO Active Meditations

Meditations in motion with music

OSHO® Active Meditations are a series of meditations based on the idea that, before we can tap into our inner source of consciousness, we need to release our tensions. They have been designed to enable us to consciously express and experience repressed emotions and feelings, and to learn the art of observing our habitual patterns of behaviour in a new way.

The meditation session takes place inside the Kalki yurt. At the start of the session, the facilitator will explain the guidelines to follow and will be with you throughout the process to ensure you feel safe and supported during the session. These types of meditations involve movement and are accompanied by music specially designed to complement each stage of the process. After the experience, there will be time for a break and/or to share your thoughts.

There are several types of OSHO® Active Meditations (Dynamic, Nataraya, Kundalini, No Dimensions, Nadabrahma, etc.). Each one has its own specific benefits. In general, this group of meditations helps to release tension and brings calm and mental clarity. If you’re not sure which one to choose, tell us about your particular situation and we can recommend the most suitable one for you.

Aromatic Circle

Training / Scent game with aromatherapy

An Aromatic Circle involves group exploration and awareness of scent, drawing on a child’s curiosity, humility in the face of learning, an understanding of our own sense of smell, and gratitude for the experience. An Aromatic Circle is a group session in which we explore various scents, whether familiar or unfamiliar. The aim is to internalise and connect with the sensation evoked by the scent, as in the Aromafulness exercises, but we also share opinions and experiences with others. Aromatic Circles are one of the tools of AromaYoga HY inspired by the Way of Incense “Kodo” and its divination variant “Kumiko” Japanese.

During these sessions, we will sit in a circle inside the yurt (or outdoors, weather permitting). We will carry out preparatory exercises based on body awareness and breathing to attune our bodies and prepare for mindful smelling.

With Aromatic Circles, you can enjoy a wide range of physical and mental benefits:

  • It enhances presence and focus
  • It balances our nervous and endocrine systems
  • Improves the sense of smell (detection, recognition, discrimination)
  • It helps with emotional management
  • It enhances our olfactory memories
  • It promotes cognitive improvements (language development, decision-making, etc.)
  • It encourages self-discovery and curiosity
  • It connects us with nature on a deep level

NATURE 2 h

Forest Bathing (Shinrin Yoku)

Connecting with nature through all the senses

FOREST BATHING OR SHINRIN YOKU is a practice for connecting with nature, pioneered in 1982 by Akiyama Tomohide, which enables people to interact with nature through all their senses as a means of achieving meditation, self-awareness and inner peace. Since then, various researchers have discovered the many health benefits of forest bathing in particular and nature bathing in general (Shizen Yoku).

We are not seeking to «learn» about nature in the way we would during other wonderful nature-based activities, such as identifying minerals, plants or birds. A large proportion of the activities offered during a Forest Bathing session are based on «FEELING» whilst we are «CONNECTED TO NATURE».

Forest Bathing sessions are mainly held at Finca Kalki and are run by the International Institute of Nature Bathing (IIBN). Occasionally, we may hold sessions in the surrounding area.

Georuta

Find out how the landscape was formed and learn about the region’s geological history

Through this geotourism activity, you can learn about the significance of the rocks, their history and the origins of the landscape’s features (geomorphology) whilst enjoying the natural surroundings.

Georoutes are geological excursions in the area around the Sierra de San Pedro and the Tagus International Park. During these excursions, we will travel by car (or on foot) to unique locations and, where appropriate, go on a walk of low to medium difficulty. The starting point and the Georuta will depend on the customer’s requirements, their accommodation and the weather conditions. You can choose from two types:

GEOSCIENCE:  A geological field trip during which we will focus solely on Earth Sciences, learning about the region’s minerals, how the rocks were formed, the origin of the landscape, geological history, etc.

GEOFULNESS (Science with a Conscience):  An outing that combines geological outreach with mindfulness and self-awareness practices. This discipline, created by Dr Helena Chacón, establishes a new paradigm in the popularisation of Earth Sciences (Geology) and in nature-based personal development methods such as Forest Bathing and Natural Mindfulness, placing the emphasis on abiotic aspects. Find out more via the link below

  • Fundamentals of Geology (types of rock, the rock cycle, geological time scale and history, the origin of life, orogenies, climate change)
  • Geological Awareness. How does understanding the message of the rocks help us in the present and for the future?
  • Observation of geomorphology and its relationship to rock types
  • Interpretation of the geological map
  • Geological history of the region and its place within the geological history of the Iberian Peninsula
  • Effects of the three global orogenies (Caledonian, Hercynian and Alpine)
  • On-site identification of rocks and minerals
  • Mineral collection
  • Implications for history and the human economy

With Geofulness, you’ll also get:

  • Pain relief, improved posture and mobility through body awareness exercises
  • Mindfulness exercises that improve concentration, bring mental clarity and set you up for better learning
  • A sense of belonging to the planet and an improved mind–heart connection with «abiotic» aspects»
