Hello! We’re organising this practical workshop on *Saturday 7 May* to restore and boost soil fertility, and on the same day we’ll be setting up the compost bin at the Alburquerque Community Centre.
Jonás Dallador, from the Extremadura Permaculture Centre ‘La Caraba’, will be coming to run a course in the morning on *Composting* and in the afternoon on *biopreparations*. They are free of charge. Now that the requirement to wear face masks indoors has ended, this is a great opportunity to re-educate ourselves on how we breathe. I know how much we’ve missed this, and I’m looking forward to returning to face-to-face sessions so I can share my experience and knowledge on the subject.

🤔 ARE ANIMALS FORGETFUL OR CONSCIOUS?
Yesterday, whilst watching a documentary with Javier, we noticed how we humans, in our quest for knowledge, tend to look for explanations in nature that fit within our own way of thinking.
The documentary was about the mechanisms trees use to disperse their seeds. One of these mechanisms, which I’m sure you’ve heard of before, involves rodents or birds. When these animals come across more seeds than they can eat, they bury them. This is brilliant for the tree, because the seed will then be able to germinate and grow. Some birds bury them at exactly the right depth for the seed to germinate 😏
