BLENDED LEARNING

Face-to-face seminars + Online campus

A note from the trainer and writer Dr Helena Chacón

  • I am writing to you, who love yoga, anatomy and the wisdom of the body
  • That you like to look after your body from the inside out, with respect
  • That you’re constantly learning
  • And it’s not just for your own sake – you enjoy learning so that you can help others to improve their wellbeing.

However, for some time now, your yoga practice has been lacking something. You don’t feel as motivated in your classes as you did at the start, and you feel a bit insecure because you don’t have enough knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics… You need to take it a step further… a step… which you feel involves gaining a deeper understanding of the human body, its mechanisms for self-healing through movement and posture, and, of course, the ways to ensure safety in your yoga sessions

I was in the same position as you are now two decades ago. That’s why I decided to delve deeper into the Myofascial System, which provides the answers I was looking for

In this course, I offer you my research, experience and knowledge. But I also offer you something very personal… it embodies thousands of hours spent in solitude with myself, allowing my intuition, my thoughts and my observations to always stay one step ahead of my demons. What you hold in your hands with this course is the result of a Yogini who won the battle against her shadow. You may like the result more or less, but there is no doubt that it is a course with soul, distilling thousands of hours of work to enable you to learn what is truly essential.

100-HOUR MYOFASCIAL YOGA® TRAINING COURSE

This course enables you to learn a wide variety of exercises for both yourself and your clients

Delve deeper into the wisdom of the human body and the mechanisms for improving the myofascial system both on and off the mat

Imagine how your practice and teaching would change if:

You’ll learn in detail how to look after your own myofascial system and that of your students

You will practise a wide range of exercises specifically designed for fascial care and remodelling

If you had tools that allowed you to be aware of your body and its sensations, whilst also going beyond that to promote emotional release and the healing of trauma

You’ll learn how to improve your own posture and that of your pupils

You will learn the essential elements for achieving a biotensegrity body that is self-sustaining, integrated and harmonious

You would have tools to promote fascial relaxation and hydration through asanas (restorative, gravity-based), balls (Mioball) and assisted practices (Thai)

You would understand how to address the most common musculoskeletal conditions in order to offer personalised therapeutic yoga sessions

All this is possible if you join the Myofascial Yoga® community

The best option in the Spanish-speaking world that combines YOGA and FASCIA

HOW DOES THIS COURSE DIFFER FROM SIMILAR ONES?

The content of this training programme is multidisciplinary, underpinned by current research into fascia, Thomas Myer’s description of myofascial pathways, and the practices of Iyengar Yoga, Anusara Yoga, Fascial Fitness, somatic and developmental movement, myofascial release using balls, Thai massage, as well as original exercises developed by Helena Chacón

Myofascial Yoga is a theoretical and practical training course which, on the one hand, enables participants to gain a deeper understanding of the human body based on modern Western knowledge, whilst not neglecting the essential aspect of experiencing things through the body

You’ll have access to hundreds of exercises involving slow, deliberate movement, body awareness, fascial somatics, vinyasa for each path, static toning with or without props, restorative poses, release work using balls (MyoBall), assisted release (Thai), etc., which you can go through whenever you need to

What is Myofascial Yoga®?

Myofascial Yoga® It is an open approach whose objectives focus on improving the fascial tissue and the myofascial system through various techniques, with the aim of achieving a biotensegrity body. It utilises five pillars for the practice of asanas:

  • ÉTER – To Feel. Developing body awareness through gentle, slow movements, exploration and self-touch
  • AIRE – Open. Large-range joint movements that promote the creation of joint space and the mobilisation of the diaphragms
  • FIRE – Transform. Dynamic practices that encourage the formation of new neural pathways, including ‘Tense and Release’ exercises, Catapults, Jumps, Myofascial Vinyasas, etc.
  • EARTH – Unite. Static exercises focusing on muscle tone to promote healthy limits and isometric toning
  • WATER – To yield. Static, gravity-based (Restorative, Mioball) or assisted (Thai) exercises

This course has changed the lives of hundreds of yoga practitioners and bodywork enthusiasts

What will you learn on this course?

  • Understanding what fasciae are and their implications on a physical, emotional and traumatic level
  • Habits to improve your fascia beyond the yoga mat
  • 5 Approaches based on the 5 Elements to incorporate into your Asana practice
  • Slow and deliberate body awareness and fascial somatic exercises
  • A wide range of tools to improve your biotensegrity and your relationship with gravity
  • Understanding Fluid Alignment by Integrating the Fascia Model into Our Practice
  • Fundamentals of Anatomy and Biomechanics
  • Improved posture
  • Elements for a Harmonious Movement
  • Useful tools for fascial hydration and relaxation of the nervous system: Gravitational restorative yoga, Mioball and Thai
  • Therapeutic yoga for musculoskeletal disorders, approached through postural improvement and mindful movement, incorporating knowledge of the myofascial system

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes. If you are already a yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance as an RYT200, you can become an RYT500 after completing the Holistic Yoga® 300-hour programme, of which TCMYoga® is a part.
Yes. The courses we offer as part of the Holistic Yoga® Advanced Programme can be taken independently and in whatever order and at whatever pace you choose. So you can take Myofascial Yoga® and, in due course, when the time is right for you to enrol on another course, you can do so until you have completed the 300 hours required to obtain your diploma.
Of course. If you live in Spain, the diploma issued by Yoga Kula S.L. will be useful for you to count as training hours towards the "Yoga Instructor" professional qualification in your autonomous community.
Of course it is. Yin Yoga is a practice that we do not cover in the Myofascial Yoga® Training (we teach it as part of our TCMYoga® training). It is a common misconception that Yin Yoga is the only method for working on your myofascial system. In the Myofascial Yoga Training programme, you’ll learn all the different approaches and techniques for achieving a healthy myofascial system, enabling you to connect with your body through body awareness, develop biotensegrity and establish healthy habits.
No. Yoga Alliance is an association which stipulates that the minimum training required to become a teacher is 200 hours; therefore, in order to register as a teacher for the first time, you must hold a 200-hour Yoga Instructor diploma. Therefore, if you would like to train with the Yoga Kula School and become a Yoga Alliance-affiliated yoga teacher, the training pathway is: 1. Complete the 200-hour Yoga Instructor training course, or 2. Complete the full 300-hour Holistic Yoga® programme, after which you will be able to obtain RYT200 certification
Yes, even if you’re not a yoga teacher, you can take the course and really enjoy it. In your case, you’ll be issued with a "certificate of attendance" if you complete the 100-hour Myofascial Yoga® training or any of its constituent modules; alternatively, you can obtain a diploma to be validated by Yoga Alliance as an RYT200 if you complete the 300-hour Holistic Yoga® programme, of which this training forms part. You’ll learn anatomy, biomechanics, etc., from the ground up
All the written and illustrated material (PDFs), as well as the pre-recorded videos, are uploaded to the Holística Formación platform. Once you have paid for the full course on the first day of the face-to-face seminar, we will grant you access and explain how to view the lessons and download the handbooks. If you’d prefer to have access earlier, you can pay for the full course in advance, which will allow you to view the material beforehand and print out the manuals to bring to the face-to-face seminars. Please note that once you have paid for the full course and accessed the material, no refunds will be given. In other words, if the "Blended Programme" is cancelled due to force majeure or you are unable to attend, your enrolment will be converted to the Online 100% course.
Yes. We offer you the option of paying for the course only if you live in the area. Furthermore, if you have a van or campervan, you can also stay at Finca Kalki, where you’ll have access to water and electricity, and you can book meals.
There are three ways to get your questions answered once the face-to-face seminars have finished. You decide which one(s) suit you best: 1. Email us at info@tcmyoga.org 2. Use the support forum, where you can ask your questions. 3. Join the live online tutorials with the trainer or assistants.
There is no time limit. Once you have access to the material and have attended the face-to-face seminars, you can go through the material and work through it at home at your own pace until you feel ready to sit the assessments for each subject. In other words, you have UNLIMITED time.
Don’t panic. Get in touch with the trainer and explain what has happened. She will reactivate the course so that you can retake the modules.
Pay the €200 registration fee to secure your place and settle the balance in cash on the first day of the course. If you’d prefer to access the course materials in advance, you’ll need to pay for the full course (excluding accommodation and meals).
