A note from the trainer and writer Dr Helena Chacón
I am addressing you, who love yoga
That you enjoy leading a healthy lifestyle
That you’re constantly learning
And it’s not just for your own sake – you enjoy learning so that you can help others to improve their wellbeing.
However, you’ve been practising a rather dynamic form of yoga for some time now; you feel tired and find yourself longing for stillness in your body and mind. You need to tune more closely into your subtle energy, your prana, and the meditative aspect. You need YIN YOGA …
I’ve been where you are now. That’s why I decided to train in Yin Yoga and build on its foundations using my knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine
In this course, I offer you my research, experience and knowledge. But I also offer you something very personal… it embodies thousands of hours spent in solitude with myself, allowing my intuition, my thoughts and my observations to always stay one step ahead of my demons. What you hold in your hands with this course is the result of a Yogini who won the battle against her shadow. You may like the result more or less, but there is no doubt that it is a course with soul, distilling thousands of hours of work to enable you to learn what is truly essential.
70-HOUR YIN YOGA TRAINING COURSE
Learn everything you need to know about Yin Yoga, discover useful tools such as AcuYoga and the Mioball® technique, and specialise in the application of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to yoga
Stand out in the sector with exceptional and unique training
Imagine how your practice and teaching would change if:
You’ll learn the effect that each style of yoga has on your physiology according to TCM
If only you knew how to practise and lead Yin Yoga sessions using its three approaches
You’ll gain a detailed understanding of Chinese energy anatomy and how to lead Yin Yoga sessions for the meridians
You will gain a deeper understanding of the physiology of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) by learning about the Five Elements and how they manifest as balance, excess and deficiency in the physical and emotional–mental realms.
You’ll learn how to teach our AcuYoga method from TCMYoga® by familiarising yourself with 33 acupuncture points and how to incorporate them into yoga sessions
You could lead sessions of Seasonal Yoga based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with a focus on Yin and AcuYoga
You’ll learn how to apply these tools to group and one-to-one classes, as well as to your own practice, for a holistic and therapeutic approach
All this is possible if you join the TCMYoga® community
TCMYoga® is the best option in the Spanish-speaking world that combines YOGA and TCM
HOW DOES THIS COURSE DIFFER FROM SIMILAR ONES?
Yin Yoga training courses do not go into as much detail regarding anatomy, physiology, philosophy and Chinese energetics
As well as YIN YOGA and delving deeper into TCM, you’ll learn about FASCIA and TRACKS, their relationship with meridians, the CIRCADIAN MERIDIAN CLOCK and our original sequence “Yin Meridian Circle”, how to apply acupuncture points (ACUYOGA) and how to work with balls (MIOBALL®)
You will be guided by a trainer with over 20 years’ experience of practising yoga and more than 15 years as a practitioner and with clinical experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and the founder of TCMYoga®.
This course has been designed for Yin Yoga teachers and trainers who wish to broaden their knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
TRAINER
Helena Chacón

Helena is the founder of TCMYoga®, a method in which she integrates her knowledge of yoga (a practitioner since 1999 / E-RYT500), Yin Yoga (Paul Grilley) and Traditional Chinese Medicine (European School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Madrid). She has been offering talks, courses and workshops integrating yoga and TCM since 2015. She is co-director of the Yoga Kula® Training School and the Holística Formación® online platform. She is currently preparing her Kalki farm (www.kalki.es), where she will run her in-person workshops and training courses.

What is TCMYoga® Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a form of yoga practised by holding poses for between 2 and 5 minutes with mindfulness, which hydrates our myofascial system, and whose sequences or foundations are linked to Chinese energy anatomy. This link to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and other Taoist practices such as Kung Fu stems from Paullie Zink, who developed Taoist Yoga based on Yin and Yang practices. One of his students, Paul Grilley, brings a functional approach, based on his extensive anatomical knowledge, in which the practice respects each individual’s body regardless of “the aesthetics of the pose” or its “form”. Sarah Powers emphasises the importance of mindfulness during the practice.
TCMYoga® It respects and follows the approach of Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers, whilst incorporating a deeper exploration of aspects related to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In TCMYoga® Yin Yoga, we explore basic Chinese concepts such as Qi, Yin and Yang, Xue and Jinye, etc., and their relationship with yoga; we delve into the Five Elements (their influences through excess and deficiency, as well as their relationship with the seasons); we explore the Zang-Fu (Organs) Theory, including their physical and psychological functions; we delve into Meridian Theory and the link between these and Myer’s Myofascial Tracts; We explore a selection of acupuncture points and see how to apply them in practice during AcuYin sessions (TCMYoga methodology); and we learn to integrate the Mioball® technique into Yin and AcuYin sessions.
What will you learn on this course?
The 70-hour YIN YOGA Training Course consists of two modules – one on Fundamentals and the other on Advanced Study – which form part of the comprehensive 100-hour TCMYoga® Training Programme. Throughout the course, you will learn everything you need to practise and teach YIN YOGA (Movement in Stillness) as well as other techniques specifically based on the management of Qi (Prana), such as ACUYOGA (Yoga and Acupuncture Points) and the MIOBALL® technique (Myofascial release + Mindfulness). Once you have completed these two Yin modules, you can continue with the rest of the TCMYoga® training by enrolling in MODULE 3 – Yang Yoga, Vinyasa and Core, and MODULE 4 – XMYoga (Yoga and Extraordinary Meridians).
Find out how to practise and teach Yin Yoga based on its three main approaches: Taoist, Mindfulness and Functional
Learn 40 Yin Yoga poses and variations
Foster self-awareness through the theory of the Elements and Organs (Zang Fu)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Please check whether your query is listed below. If not, you can contact us at info@tcmyoga.org
Yes. If you are already a yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance as an RYT200, you can become an RYT500 after completing the Holistic Yoga® 300-hour programme, of which TCMYoga® is a part.
Yes. The courses we offer as part of the Holistic Yoga® Advanced Programme can be taken independently and in whatever order and at whatever pace you like. So you can take TCMYoga® and, in due course, when the time is right for you to enrol on another course, you can do so until you have completed the 300 hours required to obtain your diploma.
Of course. If you live in Spain, the diploma issued by Yoga Kula S.L. will be useful for you to count as training hours towards the "Yoga Instructor" professional qualification in your autonomous community.
It all depends on what you’re looking for. This training provides you with a deeper understanding of Chinese Energy Anatomy and Physiology than most Yin Yoga courses, so you can explore this area in greater depth. Furthermore, you’ll learn how to lead AcuYoga sessions, apply the Mioball® technique to acupuncture points, understand how to work with meridians, elements and points, and if you continue with TCMYoga®, you’ll learn to lead Yang Yoga sessions (dynamic and toning) based on meridians, and you’ll learn a unique method: XMYoga, which integrates yoga with the Extraordinary Meridians, incorporating meditation and visualisation, Yin Yoga, Yang Yoga, AcuYoga and mudras.
No. Yoga Alliance is an association which stipulates that the minimum training required to become a teacher is 200 hours; therefore, in order to register as a teacher for the first time, you must hold a 200-hour Yoga Instructor diploma. Therefore, if you would like to train with the Yoga Kula School and become a Yoga Alliance-affiliated yoga teacher, the training pathway is: 1. Complete the 200-hour Yoga Instructor training course, or 2. Complete the full 300-hour Holistic Yoga® programme, after which you will be able to obtain RYT200 certification
Yes, even if you’re not a yoga teacher, you can take the course and really enjoy it. In your case, you’ll be issued with a "certificate of attendance" if you complete the TCMYoga® 100-hour training or any of its constituent modules, or you can obtain a diploma to be validated by Yoga Alliance as an RYT200 if you complete the Holistic Yoga® 300-hour programme, of which this training forms part.
If you know nothing about TCM, that’s no problem at all. We start from the basics and introduce the concepts so that you can understand them fully.
All the written and illustrated material (PDF) and the pre-recorded videos have been uploaded to the Holística Formación platform. You can access the course programme via your profile and work through the lessons at your own pace.
You’ll be able to attend live tutorials with the trainer during the next intake. Simply let us know via email or WhatsApp and we’ll add you to the study group, where you’ll have access to a schedule, be able to join the live sessions and watch the recordings, and interact with other students.
There are four ways to get your questions answered. It’s up to you to decide which one(s) suit you best:
1. Email us at info@tcmyoga.org
2. Use the support FORUM, where you can ask your questions.
3. Join the training GROUP for the next intake and attend the ONLINE TUTORIALS (ZOOM)
4. Attend the face-to-face seminars
You can choose between paying in full or in instalments (in blocks). Whichever option you choose, you can pay by card, PayPal or bank transfer.
