DIFFERENT LANGUAGES, ONE BODY. (MTC)

A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE, THE SAME BODY ![]()
WHY LEARN ABOUT YOGA AND TCM? ![]()
When we set out to integrate yoga and Chinese medicine, the first obstacle we encounter is the differences in terminology. Traditional Chinese Medicine has a Taoist background based on Yin and Yang, whilst yoga is linked to Ayurveda, Hinduism and Samkhya philosophy (among others). However, despite these differences, we find that the human body is unique and it is simply a matter of understanding and unifying the language.
Traditional Chinese Medicine, generally known by its Spanish acronym (MTC) or its English acronym (TCM), is a medical system that has its origins in ancient China, dating back some 5,000 years according to some authors. Owing to its long history, it is an empirical medical science that has developed over the centuries, based on the importance of balance. When something is in excess, it must be reduced, and when something is deficient, it must be tonified in order to maintain a balanced state of health.
YIN YOGA CLASSES and YANG YOGA CLASSES, designed on the basis of Taoist concepts (the Five Elements, Chinese meridians, acupuncture points, etc.) are specially structured to help you find your energetic balance, so that your Qi (pronounced ‘Chi’) energy flows properly and in just the right amount.
We are passionate about the integration of yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which, following several years of research, has led to the creation of TCMYoga®.
With our TRAINING COURSES, you can specialise as a YOGA teacher with a TAOIST approach:
On our course, you will learn an in-depth and original analysis of the
5 ELEMENTS
and its influence on both the physical and psychological levels, with its effects relating to balance, excess and deficiency, as well as mental tendencies or archetypes. This will enable you to develop sessions of
SEASONAL YOGA
Both Yin and Yang are beautiful.
You will gain the knowledge and tools you need to practise and lead sessions of
YIN YOGA
gaining an in-depth understanding of the wonders, practice and teachings of this meditative and static practice ![]()
We also offer an interesting specialisation in
YANG YOGA
understood not merely as a Vinyasa practice, but as a practice that promotes muscle tone through sequences designed on the basis of the Five Elements, the meridians and acupuncture points.
With us, you’ll be able to learn the basics of
MIOBALL® TECHNIQUE (MYOFASCIAL RELEASE WITH BALLS + MINDFULNESS)
, focusing in particular on pressure applied to acupuncture points, as well as the unique connection that TCMYoga® establishes between Myer’s myofascial lines and the Chinese meridians.
As well as ball pressure, you’ll learn
ACUYOGA
, the inclusion of acupuncture points in a yoga session to work on them using acupressure, mindful breathing, pressure applied during asanas, balls, etc.
Finally, we offer you something EXCEPTIONAL and UNIQUE as part of our training. The work on the
EXTRAORDINARY MERIDIANS (XMYOGA)
: Du Mai, Ren Mai, Chong Mai, Dai Mai, Yin and Yang Wei Mai, and Yin and Yang Qiao Mai. You will learn how these meridians influence us on a spiritual and profound level, and how to work with them through asanas, mindful breathing, visualisation, acupressure, etc.
We feel fortunate to be able to share this knowledge, which is hard to find in books and has been developed by Helena Chacón (helenachacon.com) a yoga teacher with over 20 years’ experience, trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine, amongst other disciplines. Don’t miss our upcoming sessions.
